COVID New York: Coronavirus continues to grow in state

NEW YORK – Coronovirus hospitalization and deaths in New York are steadily increasing.

Cuomo said 3,287 were hospitalized, compared to 3,108 the previous day. There were 42 deaths, more than 39 on Thursday, he said.

Cuomo said the state saw another jump in its seven-day average from 3.72% to 3.98%. Western New York’s positivity rate remained the highest in the state at 6.53%, according to state data.

“We are entering a challenging period of continuous COVID-19 spread across this state,” the Democratic governor said in a statement. “This is to slow the spread of you, your neighborhood and your community.”
