Public Health: CDPH Travel Guide for Fully Vaccinated People

The Humboldt County Department of Public Health will follow guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), which updated its Travel Advisory on Friday to target fully vaccinated individuals, while continuing to advise those who are not fully vaccinated to delay the trip.

According to CDPH, fully vaccinated travelers:

  • are less likely to contract and spread COVID-19 and can travel safely within the United States and California
  • must follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention travel guide and are not required to test or self-quarantine before or after traveling within the United States, unless they have symptoms related to COVID-disease. 19.

The CDPH has abandoned its previous recommendation not to travel more than 120 miles from home. Instead, it has offered new recommendations for non-essential travel for unvaccinated Californians leaving the state, including pre-trip and post-trip testing and quarantine upon return home.
