If you wear glasses or sunglasses, and they are constantly fogging, then a mask with a wire sewn on top is your best bet. To wear that type of mask properly, pinch the top so that it fits the shape of your nose and tighten the sides for a snoo fit.You can also apply an anti-fogging solution to your lens or try wearing your glasses on top of your mask.
There is a remedy for anyone who has found a breakout after wearing a mask.
“When you wear your mask for a long time, you sweat, causing bacteria to build up. It can cause acne,” Friedman said.
She advises making sure that both your face and your mask are clean before exiting. If you are still breaking out, a topical over-the-counter acne cream that contains benzoyl peroxide may help.
If your ears feel irritable by wearing your mask, it is because there is friction from the elastic ear loops that can irritate the back of your ears.
Freedman recommends rubbing some petroleum jelly behind your ear. You can also switch to the tie-back mask instead of the elastic ear loop one.
“If your mask keeps slipping, then tighten it until it feels a little hard to breathe. You should see your mask moving in and out while breathing,” she said.
Having trouble when you’re wearing a mask? You do not have to speak loudly, Freedman says, but instead, slower and more clearly, and ask other mask wearers to do the same.
