Des Moonis, Iowa (KCRG) – According to data provided by state officials, the hospitalization rate due to the disease caused by the novel coronovirus was higher on Saturday, as there were thousands of cases and additional deaths.
As of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the Iowa Department of Public Health said that 4,249 additional cases of COVID-19 had been added to the state’s report since Friday morning, now 148,391 cases. 100,346 people are believed to recover from the disease.
There were 14 more deaths in the state in the last 24 hours. The total number of Iowa’s since the epidemic began is now 1,829.
Since Friday’s report, a net decrease of 11, 901 people hospitalized due to COVID-19. A record 194 of them are in intensive care units, a net increase of six. 72 of those patients required the use of a ventilator, a net increase of five. It is the highest number of patients on a ventilator due to the disease. From 2 June. 165 new patients were admitted to hospitals in Iowa in the last 24 hours, a new record and a consistent rate for the past few days.
