Convenience store with blue lights for the bathroom so that drug users can not inject

(WTNH) -A convenience store and convenience store chain is changing the lights in its bathroom to help combat the opiate crisis.

The "Sheetz" chain is testing blue lighting in the bathrooms of a shop in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour northeast of Pittsburgh.

Blue lights are supposed to prevent drug users from finding veins to inject heroin.

The service station receives support from the New Kensington Police to help install lights, according to WGAL-TV.

The station reports that 179 people in the county have died drug-related deaths this year.
