Connor McGregor awaits physical test results as police investigate CCTV over sexual harassment claim

Connor McGregor is awaiting the results of ‘major physical tests’ and an investigation of the G film evidence’ before learning whether he will be arrested again on alleged sexual assault and indecent exposure.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star was taken into police custody on French Holiday Island in Corsica last Friday after a complaint by a young woman.

She has claimed that the 32-year-old Irishman assaulted her and showed her manhood after a heavy drinking session on September 6 in the upmarket Port Town, Calvi.

McGregor was released without charge on Saturday, but the criminal case is still active and he may be summoned before a magistrate later this week.

“Significant physical tests were conducted on the suspect, but the results would not be known until after the weekend,” an investigative source said on Sunday.

‘These tests are of a regular nature after such incidents, but they take time, to ensure that there is no doubt about them.

‘It is also possible that the incident about which the complaint was being made was filmed. This happened in a very busy place, where fixed cameras are located everywhere.

‘Many holidaymakers will also be filming and taking pictures on their phones, so they need to speak as well.’

Trials for alcohol and drugs are common when suspects are arrested by police in France, particularly after assault charges.

The High Corsica, the area in which Kalvi is located, is also a coronovirus red zone where cases are increasing.
