JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Leonard Fournette insists he was good to go. Doug Marrone wasn’t so certain.

Bottom line: With the Jacksonville Jaguars engaged in a frantic fourth quarter in opposition to the Los Angeles Chargers, the star working again was largely on the bench slightly than on the sector – and the 2 principals have conflicting variations of the way it went down.

“He was nicked up,” Marrone, the Jaguars coach, informed USA TODAY Sports after the 20-17 time beyond regulation victory. “I think he got nicked up early. But he’s a tough son of a gun. I’ve got zero issues with him.”

Fournette, although, has one other perspective. He informed USA TODAY Sports that he was wholesome sufficient to play within the fourth quarter, when he had one contact on 5 drives and was changed by T.J. Yeldon. Fournette was again on the sector for time beyond regulation, apparently wholesome sufficient.

“It’s up to the coaches,” Fournette informed reporters. “I’ve moved on from it. It is what it is.”

The Jaguars’ offense clearly may have used a jolt. Yet it’s unclear whether or not Fournette, who had 75- and 90-yard TD runs in his earlier two video games, would have supplied it this time with extra carries. In his first recreation in 28 days — he sat out with an ankle damage, a bye and a team-imposed one-game suspension for violating workforce coverage – he rushed for a season-low 33 yards. He averaged simply 1.9 yards per carry.

Frustrating?

“No, not at all,” stated the previous LSU standout, drafted fourth total. “We expected them to play 9-10 men in the box. It doesn’t matter about how many yards I rushed for as long as we got the W.”

The Jaguars (6-Three) received their third consecutive recreation to remain on the heels of the Tennessee Titans, who maintain the tiebreaker edge within the AFC South. They’ve received with out Fournette. And now received with out Fournette having to play a significant function.
