Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, wrote in a weblog put up on Thursday: “The OnePlus 5T — let’s talk about the headphone jack.” In the put up, he goes into depth about headphone jack utilization and why phonemakers sometimes resolve to let it go. Lau concludes the put up with the promise, “That’s why we’re proud to announce that we’re keeping the headphone jack for the OnePlus 5T.”
Ditching the headphone jack is a development that tends to fire up controversy. Phones with out headphone jacks depend on the USB-C port for charging and plugging in wired headphones and earbuds.
By maintaining the jack, OnePlus is making a press release about client alternative that many phonemakers, from Apple and Google to Motorola and HTC, have determined to forego in favor of supporting wi-fi equipment or those who use USB-C audio.
