WASHINGTON – Colorado health officials said Wednesday that they are investigating a possible second case of a new and potentially more contagious strain of Kovid-19.

“There’s still a lot we don’t know about this version,” Colorado Governor Jared Polis said Wednesday, advising Coloredons to continue to follow CDC guidelines in the new year.

On Tuesday, Colorado health officials confirmed the nation’s first case. B.1.1.7 Coronavirus version.

Officials said the infected person, a man in his 20s, has no history of traveling and is isolated with mild symptoms.

The second patient, along with the confirmed case, are both members of the Colorado National Guard. The two men were assisted by the Good Samaritan Society to live in Shimla for about an hour and a half south of Denver.

Officials said Wednesday that there were a total of six Colorado National Guard members working at the facility.

“Both of these cases are Colorado National Guard personnel who were deployed to support staffing at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Simla,” the state’s top epidemiologist for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Dr. Rachel Herali explained.

He said the individuals were tested at the state laboratory on December 24, a routine remedy outbreak for Kovid-19 patients or National Guard members working in close proximity to the areas.

“We are currently investigating two possibilities for how these individuals might have acquired their infections,” said Hurley.

“Given the variant’s identity in Colorado, the Medicare and Medicaid Services Center has allowed temporary visits to nursing homes to allow the population to be vaccinated as quickly as possible,” said Polis.

“Not only is the health risk felt more acutely by older Coloradans, but social isolation is a difficult and emotional piece that has been faced by many residents of nursing homes,” he said, adding that this measure would help the state’s The old community will be protected.

Dr., director of the Laboratory Services Division at Colorado’s Department of Public Health and Environment. Emily Travanty said authorities are currently analyzing 24 suspected samples that may contain mutations. He stated that there was not enough data to link the additional 24 samples to version B.1.1.7.

On Wednesday with reporters, Dr. of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Henry Wallke stated that the new version appears to spread “more easily and quickly than other strains”. Walke also stated that this does not appear to be the result of poor infection or an increased risk of death.

Walke said the person in Colorado who was infected with the new strain of the virus did not have a travel history, which suggests that “this version has been transmitted from one person to another in the United States.”

He said that considering how it has spread widely in the UK, its arrival in the US was expected “.”

Preliminary analysis of the new version first identified in the UK suggests that it may be the culprit behind the UK’s recent spike in cases.

The CDC said in December that new tensions could already spread in the US without notice. The CDC cited the ongoing journey between the UK and the US as an explanation of the possible arrival of the new version.

The discovery of tensions in Britain led to the closure of European countries such as Ireland, France, Belgium and Germany as well as borders in countries outside the continent.

Last week, the British government confirmed that another infectious version of the coronavirus identified in South Africa had also emerged in the United Kingdom. Tensions from South Africa have not yet been identified in the United States.
