College Football Scores, NCAA Top 25 Rankings, Schedule, Sports Today: Texas, Oklahoma Open Season

Prior to the arrival of COVID-19, this particular Saturday was shaping up to be one of the year’s best in college football. Recalling the marquee nonconference games originally held on September 12, we had Ohio State-Oregon, Texas-LSU, North Carolina-Auburn, Tennessee-Oklahoma, Penn State-Virginia Tech and Iowa-Iowa State on the slate. However, the unique circumstances of this season have erased each of them.

So while comparisons can be made, Saturday may seem like a downfall for some college football fans who were expecting big matchups. But looking at the way things have looked in the past few months – with teams and leagues out of the season – Saturday’s slate isn’t all that bad. The ranked teams will be in action during all three waves of games with No. 1 Clemson, No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 14 Texas, No. 18 North Carolina, No. 21 UCF and No. 23 Iowa. Make each state its debut.

In total, 10 ACC teams and seven Big 12 teams are scheduled to open their season on Saturday as Mike Norwell won his first game at Florida State, Notre Dame made his ACC debut and Clemson made its way back to regain the national title Started bidding. There is a lot to cover with those games and everything in between. CBS Sports will tell you about every way to update with the latest scores, highlights and storylines throughout the day.
