Colin Kaepernick: Eric Reid being blackballed by NFL

At a time when many believe NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is blackballed, Kaepernick believes another player is being blackballed: former 49ers teammate Eric Reid.

“While the NFL promotes how they take care of black lives, they still are Actively blackballing Eric Reid . . . To fight for the black community, ‚ÄĚKaepernick said on Twitter on Sunday. “Eric set 2 franchise records last year, and is one of the best defensive players in the league.”

In particular, Reid set the Carolina record for most tackles and most sacks by a safety.

He has not sniffed in free agency. The best argument against the notion that he is being blackballed is that he spent 13 games in 2018 and with all the Panthers in 2019. Nevertheless, the Panthers were the only team ready to sign Reid; Now, there is none.

The former first-round pick is still only 28 years old, and she could possibly still play at a high level. Whatever the reason, Reid (and Kaepernick) are looking outward.
