VANCOUVER, Washington. – Clark County Health officials identified three new locations where the public may have been exposed to measles.
On Saturday, officials said the new sites include Maple Grove School in Battle Ground, River HomeLink in Battle Ground and A Children's Dentist in Battle Ground.
There have been no more confirmed cases of measles.
On Friday, officials said there are 19 confirmed cases and seven suspected cases. The number of suspected cases has been reduced to five. Two cases were discarded by laboratory results.
The majority of confirmed cases are in children from 1 to 10 years old. Three cases involve children from 11 to 18 years old. There is a case in an adult between 19 and 29 years of age.
Of the 19 cases, health officials say that 16 of them were not vaccinated and three of them have not been vaccinated.
A person with a confirmed case has been hospitalized.
The Clark County Public Health Department encourages anyone who has been exposed to measles and who believes they have symptoms to call their health care provider before visiting a doctor's office. That way, they can make a plan that avoids exposing others in a waiting room. People who believe they have measles symptoms should not go directly to doctors' offices, urgent care centers, or emergency departments without calling before, unless they are experiencing a medical emergency.
