In a new interview with the Polish magazine Elle Man, the Marvel superstar says that he does not plan to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the “Thor: Love and Thunder” fourth entry in the “Thor” series.
Asked if Thor would retire after the upcoming film, Hemsworth said it would not be the end of his character.
“Are you crazy ?! I’m not going to go through any retirement period. Thor is too young for that. He’s only 1,500 years old,” he said. “It’s definitely not a film that I’m looking for in this brand. Say goodbye to me. At least I hope so. ”
When fans came to know “Thor: Love and Thunder” at 2019 San Diego Comic Con, director Taeka Vetti confirmed that Natalie Portman, who played Thor’s love interest Jane Foster, would return to the franchise and turn the mighty hammer . In the Marvel comic books, Jane takes a spin as a new woman, Thor, when the original hero is disqualified to grab a magical hammer and own the title.
Hemsworth described the script as even more fun than “Thor: Ragnarok”, his previous solo film that was more lighthearted than earlier films.
“After reading the script, I can say that I am very excited. In this production, there will definitely be a lot of love and a lot of electricity, ”he said. “I’m glad that finally happened in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, I’m still part of the Marvel Universe and we can continue the story of Thor. Of course, I can’t tell anything about the plot. But your curiosity To complete, I would say that in reading the screenplay, I enjoyed it a lot more than ‘Thor Ragnarok’ and it reveals something because that film was fantastic. ”
Hemsworth previously reported Variety On “The Big Ticket” podcast that he wasn’t sure when he would hang up his hammer and cape and exit the Marvel universe.
“One day will come.” Whether it is now or in the future, I do not know… Who knows what kind of grip the future holds. I don’t know, remakes, sequels, prequels can happen – who knows? ” he said.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” was released on February 11, 2022, after being delayed by the Coronavirus epidemic.
