A 5-year-old boy from Mississippi called the police to prevent Grinch from stealing Christmas, and police made an arrest.
TyLon Pittman watched a video clip of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Decided to call his local police department in Byram, Miss. on Saturday to inform the intentions of the green character of Dr. Seuss. A 911 operator eventually phoned TyLon's father, who scolded his son.
"Boy, it's better to stop seeing so many cartoons!" He said while the operator was laughing.
But instead of letting the call pbad like a joke, the police came to TyLon's house to warn him that Christmas would not be stolen.
"I CAN NOT invent this, my 5-year-old brother called the police and told me that Grinch is stealing Christmas people and he does not want to steal his own, so they really came to our house!" TeDera Dwayne Graves II wrote in a publication on Facebook.
"I asked him [TyLon] if he saw Grinch, what would he do, and he told me he would call us and force us to take him to jail, so I ended up looking and I found him." Byram police Lauren Develle told Clarion Ledger.
On Monday, police arrested Grinch and took TyLon to the station to confront him.
"You saved Christmas for the people of Byram," the Grinch told TyLon. . "Your courage is unmatched, you saved the day."
