Carnival Cruise Line canceled its 2021 voyages on Wednesday and announced the sale of two older ships as the coronovirus epidemic continues its quiet voyage around the world.
The company said it sold Carnival Fiction and Carnival Imagination, both launched in the mid-1990s, as it moves to remove “less efficient ships from the fleet”. Cruise Line sold two other ships, Carnival Fantasy and Carnival Inspiration, in July.

Carnival said it would continue operating four advanced fantasy-class ships when the voyages resumed: ecstasy, sensation, elation and paradise. Each of those ships has new dining and entertainment options as well as additional balcony staterooms.
