Then he received some flowers that were accompanied by a note that cited the lyrics of Petty, who died of an accidental drug overdose in 2017, and seemed to think erroneously that the rocker had sent them.
"Thank you, Tom Petty for the flowers," Cardi wrote in a publication in his Instagram story, which has already been deleted. "I left the room but the flowers were very big. I want to say thank you very much. "

Cardi also thanked Petty for the note that accompanied him, describing the words as "beautiful."
The note quoted Petty's song "Walls (Circus)", which read: "You have a big heart, so big that you could crush this city."
It is not yet clear who sent the bouquet, but fans have been throwing assumptions on social networks, with some suggesting Chris Brown, while others wonder if Cardi's nemesis, Nicki Minaj, could have sent the gift.
