The Israeli spacecraft Beresheet is destined to escape the gravitational force of the Earth on Thursday afternoon in a maneuver that, hopefully, will allow it to reach the Moon. If it does not, it will be trapped in the gravitational pull of the Sun and eventually melt close to the Sun.
If successful, "capture the moon" will reduce the speed of the spacecraft to allow it to be "captured" by the gravitational force of the moon, Artuz Sheva reported.
A successful capture will mean that the spacecraft will first surround the moon on an elliptical course. The plan is to use other maneuvers to reduce your speed and change the course to a circular one.
The circles are destined to approach the surface of the moon more and more until the April 11 landing.
Prior to the date, the Israel Space Agency planned twenty events across the country that will be open to the public free of charge.
