The rapper Tekashi69, AKA 6ix9ine, pleaded not guilty to extortion, as he was given the date of his trial in 2019.

He should appear again in court on September 4, 2019, according to TMZ, which means that the rapper will probably spend close to a year in prison waiting for his moment before the judge for the charges, in which he faces life in prison. if he is found guilty. .

The 22-year-old rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was arrested earlier this month along with his former manager and two former badociates in New York City, and has been in prison since November 18, pending the next move

According to reports, the star was charged with six counts: conspiring with others to commit extortion, firing a gun while committing a crime, committing a crime of violence in extortion aid, attacking with a dangerous weapon, carrying a weapon of fire and commit a crime for the benefit of blackmail.

Two of these charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison, with Tekashi facing a minimum of 32 years in prison.

The Fefe star pleaded not guilty and, according to TMZ, bail was not addressed in court; however, he was previously denied bail when his lawyer Lance Lazzaro offered to pay $ 750k (£ 585k), turn in his pbadport and remain under house arrest.

It was reported that a pre-trial conference was scheduled for January 22, in which Lazzaro will post bail.

"As stated in the indictment, this gang, which included the rap artist Tekashi 6ix9ine who sold platinum, wreaked havoc in New York City, committing blatant acts of violence," federal prosecutor Geoffrey S. Berman said earlier in an interview. statement about the charges. .

"Demonstrating reckless disregard for the safety of others, the gang members were allegedly involved in robberies and shootings, including a shooting inside the Barclay Center, and a shooting in which an innocent bystander was hit."

Lance Lazzaro said about his client: "Daniel Hernández is completely innocent of all the charges filed against him."

Tekashi, whose music video with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj was hit by bullets earlier this month (no one was injured), said he only "pretends" to be a gangster to sell his music.

Lazzaro added to The Blast: "Mr. Hernandez became a victim of this company and later took measures dismissing employees and publicly denounced this company in a morning program."

The rapper was put to the test by the use of a 13-year-old boy in a badual performance in 2015, when the hip-hop star created three badually explicit videos with the girl. In his plea agreement, Tekashi had to show "that the crime he committed was the result of a serious mistake he made in his youth, one that was not an indication of life respectful of the law he intended to lead as an adult."

He was sentenced to four years of probation and also to complete 1,000 hours of community service, as well as to avoid any involvement with gangs or any other arrest, which does not augur well for his current situation.
