Calwood fire burning in Boulder County; Evacuation

All evacuations on the East of N. Foothill Highway have been removed. Residents of the city of Lyons, including Highway 36 on Apple Valley Road, are being advised to evacuate in case of a change in fire behavior. According to the Boulder Office of Emergency Management, the city of Jamestown is being evacuated. Click here for the current evacuation map.

This is the perimeter and evacuation for the CalWood fire burning in Boulder County until 5:00 pm Saturday night.(Boulder Emergency Operation Center)

Evacuees allegedly 3460 n. On Broadway you can go to the North Broadway Complex.

Many roads along Highway 7. are closed. Colorado State Patrol is asking people to avoid the area if possible. C-DOT is urging travelers to avoid unnecessary visits to Boulder and Larimer counties so that emergency responders and evacuation residents can proceed as needed.

The foothills highway between Boulder and Lyon, including all access to all feeder roads, and South St. Vrain (Highway 7) between the west end of Lyon and the Peak-to-Peak Highway (Hwy 72) will remain closed all night.

The Boulder Office of Emergency Management listed several road closures in the area:

  • Overland on County Road 87
  • Overland on peak to peak
  • Lefthand Canyon on James Canyon
  • Peak to peak on highway 7
  • South St Wren in Old South St Wren
  • Left wing valley and highway 36
  • Highway 36 on Highway 66
  • Olde Stage at Lee Hill
  • Le hillt lefthand canyon
  • Broadway on Highway 36
  • Neva on highway 36
  • Nelson on highway 36
  • St. Wayne on Highway 36
  • Hygiene RD on Highway 36

Authorities have not yet revealed what the flames were. We will update this article when more information becomes available.
