Brooke Shields is on her way to recover after breaking her femur and is taking it one step at a time in a video she posted on Instagram. Known for her positive attitude, the 55-year-old star posted a short clip of herself learning to walk again on Sunday and her famous friends and fans responded with messages of love and support.
“I broke my femur,” Shields wrote in the caption for the video, which shows her walking on crutches in a hospital gown and non-slip socks. “Starting to get better. No matter what your challenge is, make a positive decision, for yourself, to move on,” he posted, adding the hashtag #BeginningisNow.
“Crutches come first,” we hear the person who helps her with her rehabilitation say.
“And there is only 20 percent weight …” Shields confirms, making sure not to put too much weight on his injured femur. “I dragged it, sorry,” he apologizes.
Throughout the short video, Shields seems eager to get moving as she learns the proper way to use her crutches.
“One and two,” he says as he walks. “One and … the goal is to bend your knee each time like a little bit so you don’t drag it or lift your hips, correct?” he asks as he goes.
“Wow! Quick recovery! You are one of the strongest girls I know,” commented actress Debi Mazar.
“Get well soon!” Kyle Richards responded.
“Oh no!” posted by “Odd Mom Out” writer and actress Jill Kargman. “I send you love, Brooke.”
“Brooke!” Glenn Close posted. “I’m so sorry! Courage … it’s in your blood,” the actor wrote.
Shields did not reveal the cause of his injury, but he is known to post about his love of fitness, including the workouts at home he has been doing during the pandemic.
Earlier this month, she posted a retro photo of herself in ski gear.
“#tbt,” he captioned the photo, adding a skier emoji.
He has also posted full videos of his home workouts with Coach Ngo Okafor.
We wish the star a speedy recovery while maintaining her incredibly positive outlook!
