Brokermeyer Twins highly committed to Alabama Crimson Tide football

Alabama added two top-100 commitments to its 2021 class on Friday when five-star offensivester Tommy Broeckermayer and twin brother, James, announced their commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Tommy is a No. 2 prospect overall, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound tackle who picked Alabama over Texas, Clemson, LSU and Auburn.

Tommy said, “Alabama is just a program that I felt I couldn’t ignore.” “His history and winning tradition and tradition of dealing with the NFL is unlike any other school. I wanted to challenge myself to play against the best competition in college football.”

James, ranked No. 99 overall, is a 6-foot-3, 255-pound center who picked Alabama over Auburn, Texas and LSU.

“The winning tradition is second to one with an unrealistic strength and conditioning program,” James said. “Everything [Nick] Saban has done none other there, and they are an offensive line factory. “

Both are from All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth, Texas and have ties to Texas University’s football program. His older brother, Luke, currently plays for Texas; His father, Blake, was an All-American for the Longhorns in the 1990s; And his grandfather, Kay, also played in Texas.

It looked as though the Longhorns would beat the team, but as their recruiting process progressed, Alabama steadily gained momentum.

As twins, they said that it is very likely that they would end up in the same school, even though they were going through the recruitment process as two different prospects. This added a layer to his recruitment, as he had to try to find the right place for two people instead of just one.

“It’s probably hard, because it’s two different people looking at the same stuff,” James said. “So two people appealing the same thing is obviously harder than getting one person.”

Alabama was able to convince both brothers that Tuscalcosa was the place to be, and now two ESPN 300 offensive linemen are adding on to the already successful few months on the recruiting trail for Saban and his staff.

The Crimson Tide has now landed 10 ESPN 300 commitments since May, including three five-star prospects with Tommy Brockerman; Partner Jessie Latham, ranked No. 9 in the class; And defensive end Dallas Turner, the No. 13 overall recruit.

Alabama was excluded from the top 25 in the class rankings in early May, but has been steadily climbing ever since as coaches have added talent to the class. Prior to these two commitments, Alabama was ranked No. 13 overall. It will probably now go ahead with the brokers on board.

The coach now has 12 ESPN 300 commitments in the class, tied with 15, with LSU and North Carolina behind and only Ohio State.
