The two girls, both aged 15, were at a party at a villa in Marconia di Pisiski, a city of about 12,000 people in the province of Matera in southern Italy.
Investigators said that shortly after arriving at the party, the two suspects – two teenagers – who arrived with the sister of one of them, were approached.
Matera police said that one of the suspects pushed one of the girls into a dark area and her friends arrived shortly after with another teenager.
According to TGcom24, the two girls were sexually assaulted at a farm near the villa.
After the suspects left the scene, the teen told the sister of one of them what had happened.
Once they returned home, the two victims called 118 – the Italian Emergency Service.

Police described the attack, which occurred on the night between 7 September and 8 September, as a ‘brutal and extreme attack’.

Four people of the city have been arrested on suspicion of rape and serious bodily harm.
Michel Masiello, 23, Alberto Lopatrillio, 22, Alessandro Zuccaro, 21, and 19-year-old Giuseppe Gargano, who were nominated and portrayed by the Italian media, are jailed in Matera.
Investigation details revealed that a girl’s uncle went to the party after the attack and was told not to call the police.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, one of the revelers allegedly told her “don’t call the police, or you’ll ruin the party”.
Giuseppe Rago, an advocate for the girls, described the violence against them as “unprecedented”.
“They are girls with a strong character, they are heard by their families and believe in the work of justice.
“They hope to recover soon and forget what happened … We never would have thought that such wickedness could happen here,” he told Adnanronos.
One of the girls described in her statement how she ordered a drink from a barman and was then offered to each other by a man she met at the party.
He said: “I had not intentionally taken any drugs, but I think someone put something in my other drink because I felt terrible after drinking it.” ”
The girl added to the attack: “I told them to stop.” I was screaming in English let me go.
“He took off his trousers and I tried to defend myself by cutting off one’s penis. I saw that one of them was trying to film it on his phone.”
CCTV footage released by the Italian police and published by local media showed the men walking towards the grounds about 15 minutes after the alleged rape.
At least two of the girls’ attackers were identified after one of their cousins showed them Instagram profiles of Massiello and Lopatralio.
The investigation continues and the suspects are in jail.
