Breaking: California announces plans to reopen theme park, Disneyland may reopen in Yellow Tier at 25% capacity

During the COVID-19 briefing today, California’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, Drs. Mark Cheek, finally gave an update on the guidelines to reopen the long-awaited theme park.

Dr. Gali spoke on a tour conducted at a currently open theme park, such as Walt Disney World, commenting on high-risk and low-risk measurements:


The theme park industry would have “broken into parts” to represent the size of all brands and theme parks. Here are new guidelines for theme parks:

  • Food and concessions
  • Performances, interactive performances and events
  • Uniform, dress and wardrobe protocol

As anticipated, all guests must participate in a reservation system to make contact tracing easier. Face masks will be mandatory unless it is socially incorrectly eating or drinking.

During last week’s update, Drs. The rebuttal reiterated that Orange County, which includes Anaheim and Disneyland Resort, was still under a red “Substantial” tier code. We will continue to update you to new levels.
