Booker shines but the Celtics are still

Los Angeles (AFP) – Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker scored 38 points, but it was not enough to prevent the Boston Celtics from reaching their twentieth victory of the season on Saturday.

Booker produced a master scoring clbad and contributed four Rebounds and five badists just to see his efforts end in a 116-111 loss at TD Garden.

Boston, who improved to 20-4 to consolidate its position at the top of the Eastern Conference standings, survived the Suns thanks to a full offensive effort.

Kyrie Irving once again opened the way for Boston, scoring 19 points on a day when six Celtics players achieved double figures.

Jaylen Brown added 17 points, while Jayson Tatum had 15 points and Al Horford 14 points. Horford also grabbed five rebounds and had 11 badists.

Marcus Morris and Marcus Smart contributed valuable from the bench, with 17 and 13 points respectively.

Boston headed for victory after a quick start, opening a 31-22 lead in the first quarter that finally allowed the Celtics to keep the Suns at a distance.

Phoenix reduced the deficit to six points in the break after beating Boston in the second quarter, but the Celtics joined in the third to open an 89-79 lead in the final period.

Phoenix got close to two points after Dason Chandler's dunk shot made 105-103.

But a triple from Irving in the next attack put Boston 108-103 ahead with less than two minutes left.

Irving also produced another magical moment with a driving tray to give Boston a 112-106 lead before the Celtics closed the victory. [19659012] [ad_2]
