If the January blues had not arrived … The most beautiful dog in the world, Boo, has died from a broken heart, said its owners.
The Pomeranian Boo and his buddy Buddy, who died last year, became sensations on the Internet when their American owners began sharing photos of their lovable antics.
His death was confirmed in a publication made by its owners to its 16 million followers on Facebook. I was 12 years old, in human years.

Dear friends of Boo: With the greatest sadness, I wanted to share that Boo passed away while he slept early this morning and has left us to join his best friend, Buddy. Our family is disconsolate, but we feel comfortable knowing that they no longer feel pain or discomfort. We know Buddy was the first to greet him on the other side of the rainbow bridge, and this is probably the most excited any of them has been in a long time. From the beginning of Boo's FB page, over the years I received so many notes from people who shared stories of how Boo illuminated his days and helped bring a little light into their lives during difficult times. And that was really the purpose of all this … Boo brought joy to people all over the world. Boo is the happiest dog I've ever met. It was so easy that we never had to worry about training. He made the most cunning man shriek with joy for his tenderness and made everyone laugh with his peculiar personality and wagging his tail. Over the years, Boo met some super cool people, many crazy people with talent, but above all so many kind people … friends who gave him infinite love, people who prioritized their comfort to get the perfect image , partners who understood that Buddy ALWAYS had to include, and last but not least, the incredible doctors, therapists and staff of Adobe Animal Hospital and Sage Veterinary Centers for the countless hours of attention and dedication they provided to Buddy and Boo . I took Boo home in the spring of 2006 and, therefore, I started the greatest and most comforting friendship of all time. Shortly after Buddy's death, Boo showed signs of heart problems. We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us. He endured and gave us more than a year. But it seems that it was their moment, and I'm sure it was a very happy moment for them when they saw themselves in heaven. Boo, we love you with all our heart and we will miss you until the day we meet again. Have fun running with Buddy and creating an adorable prank wherever they go. Thank you all for following your foolish adventures in the last 10 years. Surely they had a lot of fun. With love and our deepest gratitude, the humans of Boo.
"Shortly after Buddy's death, Boo showed signs of heart problems, and we think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us," the owners wrote. "He clung and gave us more than a year. But it seems that it was their moment, and I'm sure it was a very happy moment for them when they saw themselves in heaven.
"Our family is disconsolate, but we feel comfortable knowing that they no longer feel any pain or discomfort," they added, noting that Boo "brought joy to people around the world."
The announcement was received with surprise by Boo fans, several of whom said they were crying for the news.
In addition to his presence on social media, Boo was named in 2012 as the official pet liaison for Virgin America. He also had a book contract, which appeared in photo albums that included "Boo: The Life of the Cutest Dog in the World," published in 2011.
The dog "discussed" how he managed fame in a 2012 interview with CNN. "Life has not changed much for me," he said. "I like to stay at home, play with toys and play with Buddy."
