Bonham ISD closed until January 23 after a flu outbreak



BONHAM, TX – Bonham ISD announced on Tuesday that the school district will be closed from January 17 through January 23 due to the "number of students and staff members exhibiting flu-like symptoms." According to a district statement, local health officials recommended a seven-day break for the health and safety of students and employees.

During closing, all school-related activities, including evening events, will be canceled. School facilities and buses will be disinfected during the break.

Students and staff members are asked to avoid contact with selected people and practice other hygiene measures during rest

The good news for Bonham ISD students is unexpected rest will not take away days of bad weather and you will not have to recover.

According to Dallas County Health and Human Services, the complications of seasonal flu have claimed 31 lives in the county this season.
