Thousands of customers are in the dark in Northern Virginia. The cuts are in Fairfax and Loudoun counties.
Thousands of customers are in the dark in Northern Virginia on Tuesday morning.
Dominion Energy reports widespread power outages affecting nearly 15,000 customers in Fairfax County and 650 in Loudoun County, as of 7:15 a.m.
Early in the morning, the cut affected about 30,000.
The WTOP Traffic Center reports that there are several dark signs along the US Route 50 corridor between South Riding and Greenbriar.
Drivers should proceed with caution and follow police instructions when present. Make sure to stop at dark intersections and yield.
The Dominion website says power should be restored at 10 a.m. M.
WTOP has reached out to Dominion to find out what caused the outage.
