Joe Biden announces “We’re going to win this race”Friday after a rollercoaster day that took an edge with him in two major states. But as the counting of votes continues, so does the race.
Most of the focus is on Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes – enough for Biden to win the presidency at this level. As of late Friday evening, the former Vice President was leading by over 28,000 votes with 96% of the vote.
CBS News still considers Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina as a toss-up, while Nevada is leaning toward potential Democratic and Arizona Biden. President Trump has fielded in Arizona, while Biden has expanded his lead slightly in Nevada.
Biden urged confidence in the counting process on Friday, as President Trump continued to claim that the election was being stolen from him.
“Democracy works – your vote will be counted,” Biden said. “I don’t care how much people try to stop it. I won’t let that happen. People will be heard. Our journey is towards a more ideal situation.”
Mr. Trump spent the day from the public’s point of view but did not swear. His team selected a longtime political adviser, David Bossy, to lead the effort to challenge the results in several states.
