Update: Best Buy is already out of stock for the PS5. Be sure to follow our PS5 refueling guide for the latest refueling information as we get it.
Gamers eager to get their hands on the PS5 could have a great start to the weekend, thanks to Best Buy. The electronics retailer has stocks of the PS5 at the moment.
Best Buy has restocked the PS5 the last five Fridays in a row, and now it has pushed its streak to six with this latest restock. This will likely be the last major PS5 restock of the week, as hardly any retailers restock over the weekend.
PS5: $ 499 at Best Buy
Sony’s flagship gaming machine, the PS5, is one of the most in-demand tech products currently available. For good reason, this powerful console features 4K visuals, an innovative DualSense controller, and a 4K Blu-ray drive. Best Buy has the console in stock right now. View deal
PS5 Digital Edition: $ 399 at Best Buy
The PS5 Digital Edition is the same great console, but without the 4K Blu-ray disc drive. This is a great pick for gamers who are interested in digital games. Best Buy did not restock the PS5 Digital Edition console last week, so it needs to be restocked. Since the normal PS5 is in stock, it could be available at any time. View deal
However, according to TechRadar sources, last Friday’s PS5 resupply was “extremely light” due to limited inventory. This was pretty apparent as the retailer sold the PS5s even faster than normal and didn’t even restock the PS5 Digital Edition at any point in the past week. So don’t expect this restock to stick around for long, you need to act fast if you want to secure a PS5.
Target restocked the PS5 yesterday, and rumors persist that Amazon will release a massive PS5 restock at some point. Best Buy restocked the Xbox Series X yesterday, so the retailer definitely hasn’t sat down this week. Especially now that the PS5 has been restocked.
We’re keeping a close eye on PS5 restocking in our guide to where to buy a PS5, so be sure to keep checking back for the latest stock information as we get it.
How to buy a PS5 at Best Buy
As with most retailers, setting up a Best Buy account in advance should be your first priority. You want to make sure your payment details and address information are pre-saved to save precious time on your payment, which could be the difference between insuring a PS5 and being left empty-handed.
It is also important to note that Best Buy does not currently offer PS5 consoles. Although the ordering process is done online, you must opt for in-store pickup. So if you don’t have a local Best Buy, or don’t have the ability to get to your local store, Best Buy may not be the PS5 retailer for you.
YouTube Stock Tracker Jake randall has presented the best process for making payment with a PS5 at Best Buy. When a refill is in progress, please refresh the product page until you see a yellow “add to cart” button or a gray “please wait” button. If you see the latter, don’t update, instead wait for the button to turn yellow “add to cart”.
Once you can add it to the cart, you may see a message telling you that the PS5 is no longer available. If that happens, you must change your location to one that has the system in stock. Randall recommends that if the PS5 shows out of stock everywhere, leave the page as is and open a new one. Repeat the process described above until the “add to cart” button appears again, then go back to the original page you had opened and try again to choose a location.
Best Buy, like several other retailers, is releasing their PS5 stocks in waves, so wait even if the site initially says sold out during a restock window, as another opportunity to get a PS5 may appear. Investing some time in the process could pay off, as other people could give up and lose patience.
The retailer will also ask you to enter a code provided during the checkout process, you have the option to have it sent to you via text message or email. Always opt for text, as it will be transmitted almost instantly. Email codes can take a while to arrive or get lost in a spam filter, and by the time you’ve retrieved them, your console will likely be exhausted again.
