Best Buy PS5 and Xbox Series X Restock makes customers call it cessation

Best Buy released a PS5 restock and an Xbox Series X / S restock this morning, and it didn’t go well. While both restocks were apparently substantial, both were for store pickup only, meaning many made it all the way to the end of the checkout process to find that not a single Best Buy near them was in stock. Added to this were the issues with the cart, which, at this point, are just part of the experience of buying a PS5 and Xbox Series X. And if that wasn’t enough for PlayStation customers, PS5 stocks were pretty depleted. fast, especially compared to Xbox stock, which, at press time, is still available in a sparse capacity.

While Best Buy sold both Xbox consoles, it did not have both PS5 models. While I had a lot of the standard $ 500 PS5, the stock didn’t include a single all-digital PS5 unit, which is $ 100 cheaper as a result of skimping on a disc drive.

All that said, in 2020 it was impossible to get a PS5, and to a lesser extent an Xbox Series X, due to incredible demand, limited supply, and resellers. These three factors are still in play in 2021, but the store pickup issue is added. Many retailers are no longer shipping, which means that customers in certain areas, especially rural ones, are having a hard time getting a console. Unsurprisingly, all of this creates even more frustration.
