The oldest in the history of domestic TV news program "Time" appeared in domestic television air half a century ago. The first issue was released on January 1, 1968 – with the music of Georgy Sviridov to the film "Time, Forward!" The globe was rotating on the screen. "Gazeta.Ru" remembers how it all began and who stood at the sources of information journalism of the country.

"January 1, 1968 … The closer 9 pm Moscow time, the faster everything is heating up, the head is spinning. In the department of release – continuous chime. From GUM, Georgy Kuznetsov is preparing a direct broadcast. Iran Kazakova already on Pushkin Square – she needs to talk to the people (the darkness gathered!) And rushed headlong for Shabolovka … – recalled TV journalist Alla Melik-Pashayeva who worked in the program from 1967 to 1973

But the translation is questionable: at the last moment thousands of technical problems are discovered!

But somehow in an incomprehensible way everything, as in a fairy tale, will end well! Iran will be in the studio, Hera will conduct her report and the first release will roll like clockwork, and we, its participants, embrace, leaving the studio, as people who have had something very significant in their lives …

At first the program only came out 3 once a week and without leading – the work in the studio was replaced by direct inclusions of journalists from the scene.

The usual format appeared only in the early 70's, when the editorial board was headed by the legendary journalist, the creator of the radio "Mayak" Yury Letunov. The studio moved to Ostankino, and the program itself became color. Since 1972 the timekeeping of "Vremya" is 30 minutes.

"It's hard to imagine now, in the era of the Internet, at what cost the efficiency was achieved.

If it was an important political event that did not occur in Moscow, the film needed to be an airplane to deliver to Vnukovo, from there urgently to bring to Ostankino, to show, dry and only after that to see what is specifically removed, whether there is no marriage, whether it is possible to begin the installation. Every two minutes, Letunov or the release officer called the washing station: "Well, is the tape already ready? Still dries? What are you doing there! The air is on! ", Said the editor-in-chief of Vremya from 1977 to 1983. Viktor Lyubovtsev.

Name and Politics

The title of the program is due to the main director Alexei Petrochenko.

"At the end of 1967, we met in one of the editorial rooms on Shabolovka four conspirators: Iranian analyst Kazakova, senior editor Levan Dzaridze, chief editor of the editorial Petrovich (Alexey Petrochenko) and the author of these lines.

… Where did the name that became the brand come from? The debates in the group of conspirators were short-lived.

Dozens of options, one worse than another, flashed like shots, when suddenly Petrovich blurted out: "Time!"

And it seemed to all that this option was turned in their own language! – recalled the first issuing editor Leonid Zolotarevsky.

In the post-perestroika 90th the program was changed along with the political course.

We were all very happy that it was this version that was being played in their own language !, "said Alexander Onosovsky, who worked in different years as a columnist, senior editor, special correspondent and commentator of" Time. "

And I was thrown into the water on this most complex ether as a puppy. I still remember how my pulse beat around my throat so that I seemed to die of horror.

The leaders watched the ether, and they liked how I worked in force majeure the next The day I was put on the air. But I did not come to him, I said, I'll stay the editor.
