In some cases the stand may be empty. In others, they will be sparse. The band cannot fill the awkward silence, and the spectacle can be silent. But there will be football, and if last weekend is any indication, the action on the field will be blissfully odd in the ways we all grew to love.
We have already seen some games. Central Arkansas seems to have already played six games. But there will be football starting around 1pm on Saturday afternoon. We will be looking at the tab for you.

Yes, Nick Saban has heard about the new Oatmeal Cream Pie cereal, so quit asking ‘. The great Alabama coach’s love for his favorite snack is well documented, and now, he has another way. Trust processed sugar.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but when we asked Nick Saban about the cereal of the new Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pie, not only did he know that he said he was one of the first people to try it . “I’ll be their guinea pig.” #MartyandMcGee pic.twitter.com/cgeV0FwI1i

What looked like a new Scott Frost video calling for the return of Nebraska football also saucers on Friday. Frost was relieved by Ander Christenson, the chicken enthusiast who was last asking Lincoln city council to ban the term “boneless wings” when they were really nothing more than “saucy nugs”.
“Just like a feather without a bone, the bus is hoarse nuggets,” Christensen said, “A Saturday without Husker football is just a Saturday.”

Big Earl’s Flavortown Adventures
Earl Campbell has too many children. Texas renamed Campbell-Williams Field in honor of him and his fellow heroic Ricky Williams. Now Campbell has ‘rolled out, rolled out’ to host America’s largest “dinner, drive-in and dives” with huge gifts. Here’s hoping that those horns will soon be mounted on the Triple-D Camaro.
Oh God! The greatest gift of all my favorite players, Earl Campbell # 34. And to get it, they downed 3 1 / 2hrs to deliver it! #RoseofTyler pic.twitter.com/SIWbtmbqZt

America’s mascots should be treasured, even if it meant extremes, such as the way Begler let the Aggies take care of their Lady.
Aggie weighed @tamuvetmed Were able to successfully treat the lady, @BaylorThe American Black Bear mascot for taking out a mass last week. We are glad to hear that he is facing this process well.
Get well soon, lady! / Https://t.co/Zre4dazQFO
