Be sure to check the score, schedule and schedule of College Football Week 1

Well, here we are, college football fans. Our life has the longest offsen (over) in history. Week 1 is officially happening.

In some cases the stand may be empty. In others, they will be sparse. The band cannot fill the awkward silence, and the spectacle can be silent. But there will be football, and if last weekend is any indication, the action on the field will be blissfully odd in the ways we all grew to love.

We have already seen some games. Central Arkansas seems to have already played six games. But there will be football starting around 1pm on Saturday afternoon. We will be looking at the tab for you.

Badge snack

Yes, Nick Saban has heard about the new Oatmeal Cream Pie cereal, so quit asking ‘. The great Alabama coach’s love for his favorite snack is well documented, and now, he has another way. Trust processed sugar.

The hawkers are still wingin

What looked like a new Scott Frost video calling for the return of Nebraska football also saucers on Friday. Frost was relieved by Ander Christenson, the chicken enthusiast who was last asking Lincoln city council to ban the term “boneless wings” when they were really nothing more than “saucy nugs”.

“Just like a feather without a bone, the bus is hoarse nuggets,” Christensen said, “A Saturday without Husker football is just a Saturday.”

Signal o ‘bar

It can be a habit to do something
The one-season Notre Dame / ACC alliance with the logo on the turf at Notre Dame Stadium seems more official.

Good work memphis
The Liberty Bowl will not be packed for the Tigers season opener against Arkansas State, but it is as packed as we can get in college football.

Welcome back

Big Earl’s Flavortown Adventures
Earl Campbell has too many children. Texas renamed Campbell-Williams Field in honor of him and his fellow heroic Ricky Williams. Now Campbell has ‘rolled out, rolled out’ to host America’s largest “dinner, drive-in and dives” with huge gifts. Here’s hoping that those horns will soon be mounted on the Triple-D Camaro.

Dogs and cats living together
America’s mascots should be treasured, even if it meant extremes, such as the way Begler let the Aggies take care of their Lady.
