Avengers: Infinity War: What are the

Since Marvel first released Iron Man in 2008, they have repeatedly said that "is all connected" . Through dozens of films spanning a decade of genius, we've seen some of Marvel's most incredible characters come to life on the big screen. Behind all, there has been a binding factor, a driving force that unifies all these films that span continents and galaxies, The Infinity Stones .

So, what exactly are these precious stones that have started? wars and caught the attention of some of the most powerful beings in the universe? Up to this point, we've seen these stones make their own appearance in films like Thor, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and so on. However, it has not been clear to our heroes that these stones have a higher purpose. They know that they are capable of a world final power (by themselves) and that the bad ones can not obtain them by any necessary means.

"Before the creation itself, there were six singularities, then the universe exploded into existence and the remnants of this system were forged into concentrated ingots … Infinity Stones." – The Collector (Benicio Del Toro)

That's the best explanation we get from the first 11 movies. The Big Bang happened and these "otherworldly" powers that should not and should not belong to any other part of the universe are compacted into 6 colored stones. Each stone has its own power and name: Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Soul and Time.

Now I know what you're thinking "But … I do not remember a Soul stone in any of the movies?" and you would not go wrong, that's the only one we still have to see in his debut on the big screen.

This time, however, he succeeds, placing each gem in his Infinity Gauntlet and eliminating half the population of the universe. Then, a group of avenging superheroes hit him again on various comic themes.

It is VERY important to note here that in BOTH instances, Adam Warlock played a crucial role in the death of Thanos. However, for the reason we still have to see it in the movies, we only hear about it in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 to be precise. But I will not jump through that rabbit hole in this article. It is also worth mentioning that the elements of Adam Warlock have been applied in other parts of the Marvel cinematographic universe, more specifically, the use of a [Infinity Stone] in his head, has been applied to the film version of The Vision. Hmmm intriguing.

What Infinity Stones have we seen so far?

Avengers: Infinity War - What are the

So let's go back to the beginning.

The Tesseract (Space Stone)

First we saw this stone in Captain America and then The Avengers used by Red Skull and then Loki respectively. The Tesseract, if you can remember it far back, is the blue cube capable of teleporting anything or anyone from one point in the universe to the other. The other use is apparently to create futuristic weapons … but wait! What would happen if all those blue laser beams did not kill what they hit but simply teleported to other parts of the universe? Or even other movies? Toy Story knows Avengers to someone? Anyway, the last time we saw this stone was brought to the homeworld of Thor, Asgard, at the end of The Avengers .

Avengers: Infinite War: What are the [19659003] Aether (Reality Stone)

The Aether is the red floating liquid of Thor: The Dark World, you know, the material that Does it adhere to a host and make it stronger? In comics, it has more a focus on the realization of wishes. In the MCU, even if only seen in this movie. The character of Natalie Portman had it and then the dark type of dark elf hired him as a bad case of herpes …

At the end of the film, although it was given to the Collector for security reasons, but his house and his collection flew the shit in Guardians of the Galaxy, so I'm not sure where that shit was. Hmm PLOT HOLES!

Avengers: Infinity War - What are the

Orb (Power Stone)

Speaking of the collector's house and The Power collection turns into crap, the power stone is responsible for that in Guardians of the Galaxy . This purple stone gives its possessor immense power, superhuman strength and rays of purple destruction to be more specific. It is more than capable of annihilating whole planets and everything that there is over them by simply touching the surface. At the end of the Guardians, the Power Stone was being contained by the Nova Corps.

Loki's Scepter / Part of the Vault of Vision (Mental Stone)

Originally in Loki's scepter, which explains why he could control people like puppets, the Mental Stone now resides safely in the forehead of the Vision, naked for the universe to see it, someone trusts … Anyway, as I just said, the mental stone allows the user to control the minds of people, imagine. He also turned Jarvis into Paul Bettany! But I think Marvel took some creative freedoms there.

Avengers: Infinity War: What are the

The Eye of Agamotto (Time Stone)

Featured in Doctor Strange Time Stone allows its user to control the time … another Once, go figure. In the film he was known as the "Eye of Agamotto" but they do not deceive anyone, we know better! Dr. Strange used the Stone of Time to trap Dormammu in an infinite circle with himself until he finally submitted to the Doctor and agreed to leave Earth alone, for now. Earth's first supreme sorcerer, Agamotto, had tied the stone to a pendant thousands of years earlier, high up in the Kamar-Taj mountains of Nepal. As far as we know, he still resides there because that's where Dr. Strange left off.

Avengers: The War of Infinity - What are the

And finally … [19659003] The Soul Stone

However, for his theatrical debut, Soul Stone in comics he was a sensitive being who could trap souls within another world. However, the concept of "souls" has not yet been really explored within the Marvel film universe. It is open to the interpretation of how it will be revealed in movies. Seeing how we only have Black Panther standing between us and Infinity War Part 1 it's plausible that (hopefully) we'll see it later.

Fun fact: Infinity Stones did not have the same colors in comics as on the big screen. And in the comics there were even MORE stones than these 6, because they are Marvel and they can do whatever they want! Because!

But I'm digressing …

Okay, so we know where the stones are now (minus one) and we know what they all do, and now what? Well Thanos needs to pick them up and imbue his gauntlet with the power of the stones. From the published trailer, we know with certainty that it has Space and Power Stones.

Avengers: Infinity War - What Are The Infinity Stones [19659003] Another fun fact? ONE Infinity Stone makes the bearer have "the power of a God". * panting * Then, really, anything more than that is too exaggerated.

Another fun fact! Actually, there are TWO gauntlets! The one can be seen very briefly in Thor, in the collection room below the throne room and it seems to have fake stones inserted to show, because who just wants to look at a simple gold glove? BORED. Then, of course, the other is in Thanos's possession, as shown above.

So there you have it, we're one step closer to getting caught! Be sure to stay tuned for our next installment, where we will immerse ourselves in who exactly is this type of purple pissed off. Who is Thanos ?!

Is there any fun fact that we have overlooked or do you think would make this article even more cool? What is your favorite stone or Marvel movie? Do you think Thanos has "Infinity Boots"?
