The 27-year-old saw his only big league experience coming in 2019 with the Mariners and he made his debut against the Reds. He pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings in six matches during that season as a September call.

From Napoleon, Ohio, Warren pitched for the University of Cincinnati in 2012-13 and Ashland University in ’15. Seattle selected him in the 23rd round of the 2015 MLB Draft.

“I’m coming home,” Warren tweeted after the transaction was announced.

Warren posted a 1.71 ERA in 29 games at Double-A in 2019.

Last season, Warren remained at the Mariners’ alternate training site in Tacoma, but on October 21 he was claimed to be exempted by the Rangers. Texas decided to nominate him for the assignment on December 26.

The Reds’ 40-man roster is now 35 players.
