First and foremost, not every model of the 10.2-inch iPad is on sale. The $ 279 price only applies to the silver 32GB WiFi model. Stock on Amazon is particularly volatile (rose gold and space gray models are not currently available), so we recommend taking advantage of this deal soon if you have your eye on this tablet. While the deal is not good, it is worth noting that the 128 GB Silver model is on sale for only $ 30 on Amazon, and is priced at $ 399.
We gave the 10.2-inch iPad a score of 86 because it offers a lot for the money, even at its usual $ 329 starting price. It has a lovely screen that is even better now that it is 10.2 inches (instead of the old 9.7 inch size) and it runs iPadOS quite smoothly with the AppleOS A10 bionic chip. We appreciate its long 11-hour battery life and the fact that it supports first-generation Apple Pencil input. It does not have FaceID, a feature that many people may take late as standard on Apple devices, but some have always preferred TouchID and those users would prefer the main physical home button on this iPad.
This is a big deal on the 7-generation iPad, especially for those who have longed for a solid, inexpensive tablet. Apple’s next hardware event is scheduled for September 15, and it is still unclear which will come out of what we see. There are rumors that the updated iPad Air may be on the dock, but we are yet to hear anything about the new version of the 10.2-inch iPad.
