Exclusive iPad Experience with iPadOS 14
The iPadOS 14, available from Wednesday 16 September, brings new features and designs that take advantage of the iPad’s unique capabilities, such as its large multi-touch display and versatile accessories. iPadOS 14 further integrates the Apple Pencil into the iPad experience for improved note-taking capabilities, and new ways of working with handwritten notes. When taking notes on an iPad, Smart Select uses on-device machine learning to separate handwriting from drawings, so handwritten text is easily selected using the same familiar gestures as the typed text in another document, Can be cut and pasted. Shape recognition allows users to draw shapes that are geometrically correct and snapped when adding diagrams and drawings to notes. Data detectors work natively with handwritten text, recognizing phone numbers, dates, addresses, and links, making it easy for users to perform actions such as tapping a handwritten number to call.
iPadOS 14 also brings Scribble to the iPad, Apple Pencil allows users to handwrite directly to any text field, perform actions such as responding to quick iMessage or searching fast and easily in Safari – all anytime Apple Without the need to remove the pencil. Scribble uses on-device machine learning to convert handwriting into real-time, so writing is always kept private and secure.
iPadOS 14 makes the iPad experience even more unique and powerful in other ways, including:
