Apple launched its Facebook FaceTime video call system in the kingdom last week, just before a meeting between CEO Tim Cook and Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the company's headquarters in Cupertino.

Apple is spearheading a drive by foreign companies to ensure that men and women can work together in Saudi Arabia, according to a Financial Times report.

The report indicated that the company "has received guarantees from the authorities that they would not face a trial for the mixture of genders in the workplace."

Apple launched its video calling system iPhone FaceTime in the kingdom last week, just before a meeting between CEO Tim Cook and Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the company's headquarters in Cupertino.

The move came after the kingdom lifted the restrictions on Internet calling services last year.

Apple was one of several technology companies visited by the crown prince during his visit to the United States, which also included Google and Facebook.
