Apple has designed its face mask for employees

Apple prides itself on its minimalistic, sophisticated product design. It is no surprise, then, that the company has its own idea of what a protective face mask should look like.

Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Apple has designed special face masks and started distributing them to corporate and retail employees, most of whom currently wear protective masks at work to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In fact, according to the news outlet, Apple is providing two different face masks to employees. A clear mask (surprise!) Clearmask was obtained from other companies. The new face (again, surprise!) Named Apple Face Mask in-house has been created by Apple’s engineering and industrial design teams. The mask consists of three layers that filter incoming and outgoing particles, and can be washed and reused up to five times.

MacRumors has acquired a picture of the mask, and it is no more than ordinary – it is a white mask with a triangle shape at the top, to sit comfortably on the nose, and for the wearer’s chin. There is a round floor.

In a promo screenshot obtained by MacRumors, Apple states, “The new Apple Face Mask is lightweight, comfortable and effective in keeping you and others safe.”

Apple confirmed the news to Bloomberg and said that it had done careful research and testing to find the right material for the mask’s filter.

The company will begin sending Apple face masks to its employees in the next two weeks.

In particular, while Apple offers face masks to customers at its retail stores, these will not be Apple-made masks.
