Apocalypse is finally playable on a pregnancy test

Since the release of 1993 Doom has been featured on just about every device under the sun, from calculators to printers to train ticket creditors. There is also a subdivision for strange doom ports. But there is a version of Doom that we have cried about for a long time, and it is finally here – a version of Doom that will run on a slightly modified pregnancy test.

Twitter user Foone, Which identifies in its profile as a “hardware / software necromancer”, is playing with a modified pregnancy test with a modified OLED display. At first, he was using it to play videos, such as from the opening of Skyrim.

At first, Foam struggled to run Doom in the test, but eventually, he did. Using a mini keyboard, the foam was able to control the black-and-white, low-fi version of Doom, running on a 128×32 monochrome display.

We are excited to announce that we are expecting (you enjoy the video below).

This is probably not the easiest-to-play version of doom, but it is certainly impressive.

Another exciting doom port that has been in the works is a version for Playdate, which uses a hand crank. If you want the real best version of doom, however, the current PC / console version keeps improving.
