A new Apex Legends leak apparently shows Respawn testing a Titanfall 2 weapon in-game before it finally hits live servers.
Apex is technically something of a sequel to the Titanfall games, and not just because they’re both made by Respawn Entertainment. They also take place in the same universe, and the battle royale resumes a few years after the end of TF2.
Now the FPS returns with Season 9 content already confirmed by the developers, and on April 9, a new image of the Apex Biast12 leaker apparently shows that Titanfall 2’s EPG weapon is already being tested.

The EPG was a beast in Titanfall 2, capable of shooting most non-mecha enemies.
The EPG-1 or “energy propelled grenade” works like a mix of a grenade launcher and a rocket launcher, with projectiles that have a very low, but definitely observable drop.
In Titanfall 2, it was a one-hit kill on basically any non-mech character if you got the shot close enough, and it also dealt very heavy damage to its blast radius.
The energy weapon will probably weaken and balance for its arrival at Apex, at least we hope so, as the EPG shown in the leaked image has a five-round magazine, which would definitely be overkill if it could just shoot you. .
Biast added that testing for the EPG was still “in an early stage”, hence the repurposed Titanfall 2 resource in the screenshot, which we hope Respawn thinks about keeping, if only for a bit of nostalgia.
They are testing the EPG on Apex rn, it’s a somewhat early stage, though here’s a repurposed UI asset from Titanfall 2 from the EPG on apex for testing pic.twitter.com/Dy1NWRulhA

When will the EPG arrive? That’s easy, since we know a ton of Titanfall content will arrive after season 8. So the next question, when? it is Does season 9 begin? Well, considering that the Season 8 Battle Pass is scheduled to end on May 3, it will probably start shortly after.
The EPG could be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Titanfall content in season 9, with more leaks regarding an upcoming near-confirmed character named Blisk, who could come up with a big surprise of his own.
