Samsung’s US website says that this uncapped event is for “every fan”, leading us to wonder if leaks and rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Lite – possibly also known as the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition – actually its true.
It is not entirely clear whether the names Lite and FE are for the same device, or if they are two different models, but both names are tied into official content and spotted by Eagle-Eyed Twitter user.
They can also do regional branding for the same device as the Samsung Australia website makes no mention of ‘fans’; Instead there is an esoteric teaser that only says “something’s coming” (midnight, 24 September, Australian East Coast time).
However, the S20 Lite or the S20 Fan Edition have been specs of a new Samsung handset being leaked for some time now. According to previous reports, it will retain some of the core features of the S20 range – such as the 120Hz display and Snapdragon 865 processor – but the screen will be limited to 1080p resolution to keep costs down.
What that cost will be is still a mystery, but the countdown has begun and we are not far from finding out what the latest Samsung Unpacked incident is.
