NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – Where is the sun? I know that many of you are asking this question after a few sad days!
Mostly cloudy on Sunday and will be towards the cooler with highs near 40. We may find some peaks of the sun between the clouds during the afternoon, but it will not last long.
It will be cloudy on Sunday night and the cold will again subside. Our next weather system will bring moisture from the south around midnight. The best chance for light snow showers looks south of Interstate 40 and east of Interstate 65 during the morning hours.
There is still some uncertainty with this forecast – such as if the dry air going out from the north will cut off any moisture streaming from the south. Which may reduce snow capacity!
Like our last winter event, not everyone will get snowfall! Right now, the best chance for dusting will be south of I-40, possibly a little higher in our higher elevations along the Cumberland Plateau.
This may give rise to some icy spots on Monday afternoon.
The bottom line is not that this is not a slam dunk forecast for our snow lovers – be prepared to forecast change! Make sure you have our Storm Shield app to get the latest updates from the Storm 5 Weather team.
