Ert Moreno is about to appoint the general manager for the fourth consecutive time since becoming the owner of the Angels in 2003. The team has named its GM today, and sources told The Athletic that it will be Brave assistant GM Perry Minasian.
But in addition to interviews with several former GMs, including Ruben Amaro Jr., Michael Hill and Dan Jennings, the Angels reached out to some of the game’s top officials, only to be reprimanded. According to leading operational sources, the Indians’ president of baseball operations Chris Antony, Rays GM Eric Ninder and athletics GM David Forrest were among the exams the Angels showed interest in.
The lack of availability of some candidates for the Angels does not mean that those candidates will be off-limits to other clubs.
