CNN's Anderson Cooper confirmed that he and long-time boyfriend Benjamin Maisani split "a while ago," reports reported Thursday.

The couple made their relationship public in 2015, but it was not clear exactly when they ended, the New York Daily News reported

"We are still familiar with each other and we love each other very much," Cooper told People in an interview. release. "We are still best friends and we will continue to share a large part of our lives."

Cooper, 50, also gave no details on the reason for their separation, but told the magazine in 2017 that his partner complained about the amount of time he spent traveling.

"I think it bothers him that he travels so much, but he also knows how much I like him, he's somewhat used to it," he said of his former partner, a native of France. "He is quite understanding that the work requires traveling, and he is happy with that."

Cooper still seems to be living with Maisani, reported the Daily Mail, which broke the news.

Cooper also seems to have a new boyfriend, having taken at least five trips to Dallas to spend time with Víctor López, a 33-year-old doctor, including one the weekend after his New Year's show on CNN, said The report.
