Piyush and Prasoon Pandey honored with the Lion of San Marcos

Brothers Piyush and Prasoon Pandey will be honored by the Cannes Lions International Creativity Festival, with the San Marcos Lion at the 2018 Festival.

Piyush Pandey, CEO and Creative Director of Ogilvy South Asia won its first Cannes Lions rewards two Gold Lions for their work in an anti-smoking campaign in 2002, marking the beginning of a period of global recognition for a man who was already a creative legend in his native India. Piyush's work is considered instrumental in the popularity of advertising campaigns produced in Hindi during the 80s and 90s, announcing a shift towards more universally accessible creativity in India.

Prasoon Pandey, the younger brother of Piyush is a highly respected director whose name has been repeated in the world ranking of the best film directors. Prasoon is credited for leading the first Indian campaign to win a Lion, for the black coffee of Ericsson in 1996 and is one of the most awarded directors in India.

Piyush Pandey joined Ogilvy & Mather in 1982 and made a name for himself at work for Fevicol, Luna Moped, Cadbury and Asian Paints. In 1994 he was appointed national creative director of Ogilvy & Mather India. Piyush was the first president of the Asian jury at the 2004 Cannes Lions Festival. The government of India awarded him the civil honor of Padma Shri in 2016.

Prasoon Pandey began his career at Lintas Delhi, eventually becoming the director Lowe India creative He established his own production company, Corcoise Films, in 2002.

Piyush and Prasoon will perform with the Lion of San Marcos at the 2018 Festival awards ceremony. The brothers will also take part in an interview organized by Philip Thomas, CEO, Ascential Events at the Lumiere Theater as part of the content program 2018.
