Valentine’s Day is a day when couples express their love for each other and Agra is one of the favorite destinations for couples. This year, however, the wish of couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the Taj Mahal could not be fulfilled because the Taj Mahal remained closed because it is Friday.

Because the Taj was closed, locations around the monument from which the Taj could be seen were filled with pairs. Mehtab Bagh, the historic garden directly behind the Taj Mahal, across the Yamuna, became the favorite place for couples to hang out, enjoying the balmy weather and expressing their mutual love in the shadow of the Taj Mahal.

The restaurants, from where the Taj Mahal is visible, also received heavy footsteps from couples who wanted a special meal on Valentine’s Day. Interestingly, most of Agra’s other monuments, which were open on Friday, were filled with domestic couples and foreign tourists were not visible in large numbers.
