Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned additional details about what led The Revival to request its releases this week to WWE.
In case you missed it, Bodyslam.net reported for the first time Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson made the request after their match on Raw and Wrestler reported that there was fear The revival was coming out of the company.
The sources tell us that the decision of the label team to request their launches was based on the little time and respect given to the division. They tell us that the duo is frustrated by the lack of promotions, backstage segments and the direction of the division. Not just for themselves, but for the entire division … like Monday's tag match that is used as a trimmed segment.
One source also noted that The Club was a late occurrence on television after arriving at WWE as a major signing and the absence of Autors of Pain on television not long after its debut as additional examples.
We were told that The Revival's feelings on the issue came on Monday after team champions Bobby Roode / Chad Gable did not even appear on the show, so they asked WWE officials for their release. At this point, the request has been denied.
Our sources say that there has been additional communication between the two parties since Monday, but it is unclear if anything has been resolved.
It is also worth mentioning, a source says that The Revival has a "decent amount of time" in their contracts.
