Actress Abigail Breslin has shared the news of her father’s death via Instagram, writing that he passed away after contracting Covid-19. He posted five images of his father, Michael, along with a long caption that he said was “difficult to write.”
She wrote that she is in “shock and devastation” after learning of his passing.
“At 6:32 pm EST, my sweet, perfect, amazing, heroic, wonderful dad passed away after my family and I said goodbye,” Breslin wrote in the post published Friday.
He added that his father was “a funny, boisterous, tenacious, rebellious, intelligent, sweet and incredible human being. He loved life. He loved his family. He loved the simple things. “
In another post published on February 10, he shared the news that his father had tested positive for Covid-19 and had been given a fan.
Breslin told his Instagram followers that his father “loved a cup of coffee (black, heated for 66 seconds). LOVED a good Knish (but ONLY in winter). He loved to barbecue (and while we loved brown mustard, he only wanted French’s Yellow).
“He loved Breyer’s ice cream (strawberry, vanilla and chocolate NEO style). He loved doo-wop songs, specifically, “I Wonder Why” by Dion & The Belmonts and “Under The Boardwalk” by The Drifters ”.
Writing that his father was an “animal lover,” Breslin said he always liked hearing his stories about his pets.
She added: “She loved taking pictures and flying planes and good dinners and music from the 50s and 60s and good couches and mountain coffee from Kenya and funny YouTube videos, email threads and weird poems and politics and I loved me and I loved my brothers and I loved my mom. “
Finishing the emotional post, he wrote: “And we love him. And we always will. I miss you dad. I can’t wait to see you again. I will never, never, never forget you. To the moon and back dad … Love, yours forever, Abs. “
