Staff at an Arizona restaurant received the ultimate secret gift from Santa Claus when a guest left a $ 2,000 tip in a $ 17 tab on Saturday morning.
"We were completely shocked," Diana Myers, a server at the restaurant, told NBC News. "We definitely feel grateful, excited and blessed."
When the guest visited 5 & Diner, located in Scottsdale, he sat down and quietly enjoyed a simple breakfast with bacon and eggs, he said.
After lunch, he provided a generous tip with only one written request at the end of the check: "Please divide with the staff. Merry Christmas! "
The council will be divided among nine people, providing a little over $ 200 for each staff member.
" The guest was not a regular customer, he was completely anonymous, "said Myers." The gentleman who served the guest was stunned when it took place, he still had not sunk. "
The mysterious man left immediately after the meal, the staff said.
The workers did not understand an opportunity to thank their mysterious tipper, but Delia Meeks still wants to express her gratitude, she told NBC affiliate KPNX.
"If you hear this, come back to thank him [you] in person," said Meeks. "We are all very happy and excited about what he did." He was baptized as "Secret Santa" by the staff
"I'm not I'm sure exactly what I'm spending the money on, but I'm definitely going to have a good Christmas with my son, "said Myers.
Meeks plans to use the extra money for Christmas gifts, he said.
"With everything that is happening in the world today," Myers said, "it's defi definitely a wonderful feeling"
