2021 Toyota Camry gets first safety sense 2.5 plus

The 2021 Toyota Camry will be more luxurious than ever.

Toyota Camry It is America’s best-selling sedan for 18 consecutive years. When the model topped the sales chart, children who were evacuated from the hospital can now vote. To help maintain its sales crown for another twist of the calendar, Toyota has just announced a sleeve of updates to its venerable Camry, tweaking the model’s design, tweaking the model range. Enhances and, perhaps most importantly, adding even more technology.

Update appears across range

Looking at the images seen here, it is difficult to tell what is new initially and, truth be told, there is no major visual change. Comfort-focused LE and XLE models are designed with more defined lower intakes. The former gets new 17-inch alloy wheels, the latter rolls on the redesigned 18. Inside, the XLE model features a new herringbone seat pattern for an extra touch of luxury.

If you want a little spice in your Camry, sportier SE and XSE grades are still an option. For 2021, they complete a boulder low facia design with honeycomb inserts. In addition, the brand Spankin is an XSE hybrid model for the upcoming model year, providing incredible fuel efficiency and more style.

Interestingly, one thing has been scrapped for 2021. The base L grade is no more. Camry Lay will now serve as an entry-level model. In total, 17 different variants of this car will be offered, three models with a V6, five with a four-pot engine and front-wheel drive, another five with the same powerplant and all-wheel drive, four Different hybrid grades.

The sporty Camry TRD model has been further refined. Introduced for 2020, its design is much more pat, a newly available, exclusive two-tone paint combination, save for the Midnight Black Metallic roof with Ice Age.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus

When it comes to driver-assisted technology, the 2021 Camry is the first model to get the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus, which offers many new features. Pre-collision systems with pedestrian detection can now cycle pedestrians in daytime and low light conditions, among other vehicles. The system also has some features called intersection support, which can improve safety in driving in the surrounding city. Turning left, it can detect incoming traffic, automatically sound an audio or visual alarm and even brake in certain situations to prevent a bad head-on collision. Beyond all of that, Toyota engineers added something called emergency steering assist, which can help stabilize the vehicle in the lane of travel during maneuvers with the vehicle, such as when a cyclist or another vehicle escapes .

Toyota’s updated Adaptive Cruise Control System is further enhanced with a feature that makes it easier to pass to other vehicles. If you are stuck behind slow moving traffic, you can activate the turn signal and as soon as you start walking in the second lane, it will automatically accelerate to make the preset speed more comfortable. .

The Camry will now be available with two different infotainment screen sizes.

As you might expect, the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 Plus also features lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assistance. Automatic high beam and on-road signatures are bundled along with recognition.

The Camry is also getting a rear-seat reminder feature for the 2021. With systems similar to other automakers, it is designed to prevent you from forgetting anything in the car, be it a package, laptop bag or anything more important, such as a pet or sleeping baby.

Rounding out the sedan’s driver-assisted technology, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts are standard fare on the XSE and XLE models. At Lower and Lay, SE and SE nightshade grades, it is now available as an option. As for sporty TRD model, Blind spot monitoring with rear-cross-traffic alerts and heated side-view mirrors are now standard equipment.

it’s what’s inside that counts

New for the latest model year is a pair of temporary infotainment screens. The standard touch-capable display measures 7 inches, although the more generous 9-inch offered watches top-notch. Tested that big performance in 2021 RAV4 Prime The plug-in SUV, it is quite good, with enough screen real estate, which makes the icon large and very finger friendly. For added flexibility, even Aadhaar infotainment system supports Apple carplay, Amazon Alexa compatibility and also Android Auto.

Minor interior changes to the Camry include some new trims. Once again, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat is standard in the model range, while the ventilated front chairs are offered on the XLE and XSE models, something that is the center of God in the scorching heat of the summer season. It is possible.

The 2021 Camry’s design changes are subtle.

more of the same

When it comes to nut-and-bolt enhancements, there is not much to report. The base engine of the Camry is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder up to 206 horsepower, depending on the model. For drivers who want a little more juice, a smooth-running 3.5-liter V6 is once again on the menu, brandishing 301 hp. Both these engines match the eight-speed automatic transmission, although all-wheel drive is offered only with the base I4. A North America-only combination, the AWD was responsible for about 15% of Camry sales.

Of course, a Camry hybrid is available once again. Its powertrain is centered around a 2.5-liter engine, augmented by a pair of motor-generators. Here, there are total system output watches at 208 hp. Hybrid Camry should provide performance that is similar to the base engine, although you cannot find a gasoline-electric vehicle for maximum driving engagement. The fuel efficiency that matters here and this Camry does not disappoint. At the entry-level lice, the city expects an estimated 51 miles per gallon, 53 mpg on highway trips and 52 mpg combined. The SE, XLE and XSE hybrid models are slightly less efficient. They are rated at 44/47/46 mpg respectively.

The current Toyota Camry is a great midsize sedan. Sophisticated looks and additional technology for 2021 should help this family-friendly four-door retain its sales lead. Production is expected to start in October and dealers will start getting examples shortly thereafter. Pricing has not yet been announced, but it will likely be similar to the 2020 model, which starts around 25 grand and changes, including destination charges.
